This is the my last review of the beers I bought on the trip to Santa Ynes Valley. The Stock Porter is brewed using an old technique blending fleshed brewed beer with aged beer. In this case the aged beer is aged for two months in American oak-casks that was used for aging zinfandel wine. It’s a dark, 5.7% beer, slightly lower in alcohol content than I anticipated.  The aroma is roasted and chocolaty in it’s flavors, with a body that is fruity lactic from the grapes and the cask. It’s a young and a little edgy beer that I think would do great after aging one or two years.
